We were delighted Sir Charlie Mayfield delivered our Annual Lecture this year on 19 March at the Royal College of Physicians.
Under his tenure, The John Lewis Partnership has grown from strength to strength, remaining resilient in the recession and holding onto customers despite the growth in e-commerce.
Sir Charlie addressed business issues such as: How do you stay true to your values in a rapidly changing world? How do you make your employees really care about your brand?
Beginning his career as an officer in the army, Sir Charlie then became marketing manager for Lucozade before moving to management consultant at McKinsey. He joined The John Lewis Partnership thirteen years ago as head of business development and became its chairman in 2007.
There was a small dinner after the lecture with Sir Charlie Mayfield where members had another opportunity to ask him questions.
