Jessica Ennis, was awarded Brand Personality of the Year to a standing ovation at the iconic Roundhouse, London.
It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the huge success of London 2012 and Team GB and the top Olympic brand sponsors, in the company of the top one thousand marketers in the UK. Our host for the evening was Scottish comedian Fred MacAulay.
World class performance was reflected in the evening’s entertainment by brilliant young Roundhouse stars, and in the three very special awards we awarded:
Outstanding Leadership Award
Sir Martin Sorrell, was given the Outstanding Leadership Award for his outstanding contribution to marketing and business.
Brand of the Year Award
A hearty congratulations to Procter & Gamble who were voted The Marketing Society Brand of the Year 2012, in association with TAG and Marketing magazine.
Attendees voted live to select Procter & Gamble from five finalists – EDF, P&G, Sainsbury’s, BT, and easyJet. Over the past year Procter & Gamble has brought its brand to the fore, using its Olympic sponsorship to great effect through a global campaign that focused on the mothers of Olympians.
Brand Personality of the Year
Golden Girl, Jessica Ennis, was awarded Sports Brand Personality of the Year at our Annual Dinner, for which she received a full standing ovation.
On accepting her award, Jessica said, “I am really grateful for the support brands have given me, particularly Aviva for supporting me from when I was 11 year’s old”.
Here’s what our members have said about the previous dinners
“Excellent evening! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves”
“Great fun, excellent evening, the whole industry was there why wouldn't you want to be there?!!”
“The company and entertainment were good as ever. The voting system and slickness of the Brand of the Year award was much better and fairer”
