In 1997, Bob Bowman, a sports psychologist and swimming coach, took on a scrawny 11-year-old called Michael Phelps, the rest, as they say, is history. Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time with 22 medals, 18 of them gold.
In the build-up to Rio 2016, we’re thinking a lot about the greatest show on earth and how data might transform the Olympics as we know it.
We’ll be investigating how brand sponsors, non-sponsors, athletes and broadcasters are using data.
We’ll also be giving away copies of Bob Bowman’s new book, The Golden Rules, which could help us all raise the bar every day, a little, or a lot, just like Michael Phelps.
This event is invitation-only.
