Our 13th St Andrew's Day Dinner took place at the stunning Mansfield Traquair in Edinburgh on Thursday 30 November.
We were delighted to be welcome Ruby Wax OBE as our guest speaker for the event.
Ruby has since spent 25 years on the BBC and Channel Four writing and performing in her own shows, edited the hit TV series featuring Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders, Absolutely Fabulous and has written two bestselling books about mindfulness, Sane New World and A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled. She’s appeared numerous times at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival and her latest book How To Be Human: The Manual is due January 2018, is set to answer life’s biggest questions about what makes us human and how our minds work.
Our venue for the evening was the magnificent Mansfield Traquair on the eastern edge of Edinburgh’s New Town. Having undergone a painstaking restoration to return the venue to its former glory, it is now recognised as a vital piece of Edinburgh’s architectural and artistic heritage. With its ornate stained glass, elegant stonework it’s no wonder it’s been coined “Edinburgh Sistine Chapel”.
We also had Alec and Alan from the award winning Scottish band, Skerryvore with performing some great entertainment - just to top it all off!
