Having been the UK's most influential network of senior marketers since 1959 and, in 2014 expanding successfully into Hong Kong and Singapore, we're now setting our sights on the Middle East, with a new hub in Dubai.

Our mission has always been to inspire bolder marketing leadership and, working out of Dubai, the aim is to become the place for discerning senior marketers to learn, develop and share best practice, mirroring that of our brilliant network in the UK and Asia.

With a programme of exclusive, world-class events, including our industry-leading Excellence Awards, prestigious Marketing Leaders Programme and our online Clubhouse - we aim to inspire and challenge wherever we go.

Founding membership
Initially we're looking to represent a meaningful mix of B2B and B2C marketers in the region. To that end we're offering Founding Membership AED1400 to only 50 of the most senior marketers in the Middle East. To qualify an individual must work client-side and hold a directorship level. Events so far
We have held five inspirational events so far in Dubai. We started with an intimate soft launch dinner with our partner Siegel+Gale and 20 client side CMOs to discuss how The Marketing Society could help drive inspiring bolder marketing leadership in the MIddle East. The challenges discussed have helped shape our agenda for 2016.

This was shortly followed by a breakfast event with Nicola Mendelsohn, VP EMEA of Facebook discussing the impact of digital and a breakfast with Terry Savage, Chairman, Lions Festivals discussing the impact of creativity on business results.

The first event of our 2016 programme was an Uncomfortable Breakfast discussing data on Wednesday 3 February, which took place at the Armani Hotel, Dubai. We discussed 'how should CMOs manage, analyse and gain actionable insights from different data sources?' With help from our friends at IBM, we explained how to apply advanced analytics to gain deep customer insight and thereby enable you to create a better experience by delivering compelling, personalized and effective marketing campaigns, in real-time.

In March 2016 we hosted a breakfast with Yousef Tuqan, VP Marketing & Analytics, Careem. The session focussed on 'Arabs Be Like' - A guide to the modern Middle East - where Yousef provided an in-depth view into the life of a modern Arab, and how regional and global brands are succeeding and failing to connect with this audience. There was a focus on social media and how it has completely transformed the relationships between people, governments and brands.

We also held a session at the Festival of Media MENA looking into the Uncomfortable Truths senior marketers are currently facing.

2016 events programme
Our programme for 2016 is to host 10 Marketing Society events throughout the year - one per month, apart from June and July. The programme will include 4 breakfast events, 4 inspirational evenings and 2 social events. The topics we will look to cover include: Talent, Data, Global vs Local, Innovation and Digital. On top of this we will look to bring in speakers from outside of the marketing/business world to provide inspiration and leadership advice.
