Having been the UK's most influential network of senior marketers since 1959 and, expanding successfully into Hong Kong (2014), Singapore (2015), Middle East (2016) and India (2017), we're delighted to have officially launched in New York in September 2017.

Our mission has always been to inspire bolder marketing leadership and, working out of New York, we aim to become the place for discerning senior marketers to learn, develop and share best practice, mirroring that of our brilliant networks round the world.

With a program of exclusive world-class events, our prestigious Marketing Leaders Program, online Clubhouse and quarterly journal Market Leader, we aim to inspire and challenge wherever we go.

FOUNDING MEMBERSHIP
Founding Membership of The Marketing Society New York is limited to 100 of the most senior marketers. To qualify, you must be at Marketing Director or CMO level from client-side, or CMO/MD/CEO from an agency/supplier background.

As well as the yearly membership subscription, each Founding Member will also get six complimentary tickets to events in our programme, full access to our online Clubhouse - a rich source of thought leadership, opinion pieces, videos, interviews and inspiring global best practice - and a complimentary copy of our quarterly journal, Market Leader. We will also create affiliate partnerships with other key industry events, providing our members either free or discounted tickets.

EVENTS SO FAR
So far we have hosted three events as a form of soft launch. In June 2016, we hosted an intimate Leadership Lunch with Keith Weed, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Unilever, to gauge interest in whether a network was needed in New York. Then, as part of Advertising Week New York 2016, we hosted an intimate lunch with global leadership coach, Thomas Barta and hosted a session about 'how to be brave in marketing and win', with Aline Santos, EVP Marketing, Unilever; Alison Orsi, VP Campaign Marketing, IBM and Thomas Barta.

Once we knew there was real appetite to launch the Society in the States we hosted our first inaugural dinner in May 2017, with partners Gain Theory, to discuss the challenges that CMOs face in the region which helped us shape our network.

OUR LAUNCH - SEPTEMBER 2017
Our official launch started with an exclusive invitation-only cocktail party in partnership with Gain Theory. We were joined by over 130 marketing leaders for an evening of celebration, showcasing what we have planned in the region. We then hosted a session as part of Advertising Week New York, discussing what the elephant in the room is for senior clients. And we finished the week with an unforgettable lunch with Dr Thomas Graham, who shared his leadership tips from the medical world.

  • Cocktail party: Tuesday 26 September
    5-7pm, The Attic - our official cocktail party to launch The Marketing Society New York
  • Advertising Week New York: Wednesday 27 September
    3-3.40pm, The Bing Stage, 11 Times Square - our thought leadership session as part of Advertising Week discussed 'What is the elephant in the room that client need to discuss and fix?'. We were joined by Michelle Froah, VP Marketing Excellence, Samsung; Rashmy Chatterjee, CMO, IBM North America; Jason Chebib, VP Consumer Planning, Diageo and Angela Ceccarelli, VP Marketing, HSBC.
     
  • Leadership lunch with Dr Thomas Graham: Thursday 28 September
    12-3pm, Hunt & Fish Club, Times Square - the final event in our launch week, was a Leadership Lunch with Dr Thomas Graham, a world-renowned wrist surgeon and SVP of strategic alliances and partnerships at Northwell Health. A thought leader in innovation, Dr Thomas shared his thoughts about bravery and shared his incredible personal story of overcoming adversity.

2018 EVENTS PROGRAM
Our programme for next year is to host six events throughout the year, which will include social events, Uncomfortable Breakfasts, Inspirational Evenings and our flagship Brave Conference. The Society aims to bring in speakers from both inside and outside of the marketing/business world to provide inspiration and leadership advice.
