Guy Kinnings

Deputy CEO & Chief Commercial Officer, European Tour

One of the most respected and authoritative figures in the world of golf, Guy Kinnings has been involved in the sport for more than 30 years.

Having joined IMG’s legal team in London in 1989, he moved to its golf division in 1991 where he focused on client management where in his time, he worked with most of the leading global players in the professional game. Latterly, as IMG’s Senior Vice President and Global Head of Golf, he led the company’s global golf business comprising both clients, events and the key relationships with all governing bodies and brands involved with the sport.

In 2018 he joined the European Tour just before The Ryder Cup at Le Golf National, with the title of Deputy CEO, Ryder Cup Director and Chief Commercial Officer, working across all aspects of the European Tour and Ryder Cup.

As Ryder Cup Director he oversees the iconic team event between Europe and the United States which captures the world’s sporting attention every two years. This includes driving the commercial success of the biennial contest, something he has augmented through the creation of the Ryder Cup Committee which brings together influential figures from the worlds of business and sport.

Kinnings is also responsible for the European Tour’s commercial operation, overseeing a global sponsorship portfolio which includes worldwide brands such as the Tour’s Official Partners Rolex, BMW, Callaway, DP World, Dubai Duty Free, Emirates, Hilton and Workday.

He is also the Tour’s Deputy CEO, working with CEO Keith Pelley and the Executive Leadership Team across all areas of the Tour’s operation through the vision of Driving Golf Further which is underpinned by the Tour’s guiding principles of being innovative, inclusive and global.
