About Rebecca
With a background in advertising, in-house marketing and product development Rebecca joined Octopus 8 years ago to oversee its growth from fledgling UK energy company to global energy tech powerhouse. Octopus is now present in 18 countries, with over a dozen P&Ls and Rebecca sits across Product and Marketing obsessively maintaining the unique Octopus style - iteration and speed, all marketing developed in-house (from design and copy through to media booking) all whilst sitting side by side with operations and customer support (...if you haven’t talked to a customer this week, you’re not doing your job properly).
“The aim of marketing is to make selling superfluous – my job is to create great experiences for humans, to get customers and to keep them happy.”

THE LEADERSHIP SESSIONS
Purpose, Pace & People:
Leadership the octopus energy way
In this energising and deeply human session, Rebecca takes you inside one of the UK’s fastest-growing brands to explore the power of shared purpose, speed over bureaucracy, and leadership rooted in humanity. What made you great small is exactly what you must protect when you grow. Hear what it really takes to scale a business from 30 people to 13,000 while protecting the magic that made it great. From obsessive customer-first thinking to leadership lessons forged, she shares the mindset, tools and truths behind Octopus Energy’s extraordinary rise. Rebecca shares the behaviours, rituals and ruthless prioritisation that have shaped Octopus Energy’s rocket-ship growth and how leaders can build cultures where people thrive, customers feel seen, and purpose drives performance.
Expect straight-talking stories, culture-building principles, and the kind of practical inspiration that stays with you long after the session ends.
