Chris is a career marketer specialising in financial services, driven by an interest in understanding what matter to people and communicating brand and propositions that deliver to their needs. He is particularly interested by the intellectual challenge of new ideas and business.
Currently Chief Marketing Officer for HSBC UK, he is responsible for the leadership of a marketing team of 120 colleagues, who develop and deliver all HSBC, first direct and Marks & Spencer Bank marketing activity in the UK. This is his second role back at HSBC, having re-joined the bank as Head of Retail Bank Marketing in 2014. Previous to this role he was Marketing Director of Tesco Bank having built and lead the Marketing Department during a period of significant growth and change for this business. Prior to joining Tesco Bank Chris worked internationally for HSBC, as well as in the UK as the Head of Direct Marketing. He also worked for Marks & Spencer Bank joining as a Product Manager and leaving as the Head of Marketing.
