St Andrew's Day Virtual Celebration 2020

We are delighted to announce our celebrations will take place this year from 7pm on November 30 - for the first time on St Andrew’s Day itself.

Working with our sponsors the Scottish Government and The Famous Grouse we will use this occasion to showcase Scottish culture to a worldwide audience across the 6 other global hubs of The Marketing Society - Singapore, New Delhi, Hong Kong, Dubai, New York and London.

Hosted by Edith Bowman we will also recognise our Employer Brands of the Year with the support of Denholm Associates as well as award this year’s Fellows and Honorary Fellows for their contribution to The Marketing Society.

Here is what else you can expect

A conversation with Amar Latif – a blind traveller, entrepreneur and TV personality with an astonishing track record of facing up to major challenges. Some of you may know him from his remarkable TEDxGlasgow 2019 talk or as a semi-finalist in this year’s Celebrity MasterChef.

Scottish comedian, actress and writer Karen Dunbar who will perform her legendary interpretation of “Tam O’Shanter” reflecting on the year gone by and hopes for the future.

Our celebration will end with a set by the highly-rated Motherwell band The LaFontaines who NME described as “predominantly rock based but with hip hop and pop leanings and a dusting of electronica for good measure."

The Famous Grouse Master Blender, Calum Fraser, will guide us through a virtual whisky tasting and toast too.

We will also be encouraging our global community to participate in the Scottish Government’s St Andrew’s Day campaign to use the occasion to spread some kindness. More details of this to come.

Booking

Ticket prices are £49 + VAT for members and £69 + VAT for non-members. Ticket holders will also be invited to access our virtual tables to either celebrate with colleagues or network with fellow guests.

Corporate members who have tickets included in their package will be contacted next week by Lux Events with more details so there is no need to book above.
