What’s your golden rule?
Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.
Who has been your biggest influence?
My mother has been a very strong influence in my life. I've tried to be as kind, honest, humble, optimistic and gracious as her in everything I do. She has always inspired me to be the change I want to see around and leave something better than when you find it. More importantly, she has taught us not to take ourselves too seriously.
What is your most hated business expression?
Synergy (I have a healthy disdain for jargons and cliched expressions.)
What’s the smartest business idea you’ve ever had?
The Brand, Marketing, technology transformation and Event IPs I created at Motivate Media Group that have continued to grow over time. Popular among it being all the work around building the Campaign Middle East brand. It created industry value, contributed to positive revenue, diversified content offering, helped diversify the media brands and brought in fresh advertisers and partners.
Which leader do you admire most and why?
Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). I've been reading about his life and times through the works of Karen Armstrong and found him to be a fascinating leader who led with kindness, dignity and without ego to serve his people. To me leadership is a lot about serving people and his balanced approach in very trying political times is an interesting lesson in management.
What is on your mind the most right now as a marketing leader?
AI powered marketing reinvention
Why is being part of The Marketing Society important for your career?
I've always admired the Marketing Society's values right from the beginning to help grow the industry and elevate Marketing that comes from the region. These are values I continue to hold and it naturally aligns with how I feel about my career. Being part of the Society, I see that as being an opportunity for me to amplify my thoughts and opinions and contribute meaningfully in shaping the industry. I'm also eagerly looking forward to learning from industry peers and be inspired.
Why does marketing matter to you?
Marketing is at the sweet intersection of insights, creativity, connections and business results. When done right, it's a force for change. And change matters to me.
Tell us something that’s not on your CV
I did a roadtrip to Saudi covering the country 8500kms - in 2023 in a restored Toyota Prado. I do the Times Cryptic Crossword almost every week. I'm very good at pop culture trivia.
