What’s your golden rule?

To approach work with a growth mindset. There is always an opportunity to learn and develop by staying open and curious.

Who has been your biggest influence?

There are many female leaders who I greatly admire but my father has honestly been my biggest influence because he encouraged me to seek out opportunities and to feel confident in my abilities from a young age. Women are still seriously underrepresented at a senior level, so that belief drives me to support other women into senior marketing roles.

What is your most hated business expression?

‘Let’s think outside the box’ because shouldn’t that always be the case? I strongly believe in limitless possibility, so being ready and willing to change is important. I love helping organisations build high-performing teams through the recruitment of senior marketing leaders who are ready to transform.

What’s the smartest business idea you’ve ever had?

To set up my own specialist executive search firm. I’ve built some lovely client and candidate relationships over the years, with most new roles coming from repeat business and referrals. Our relationships really make us who we are.

Which leader do you admire most and why?

Margaret Jobling, CMO at NatWest, is unbelievably talented and completely authentic in her approach to leadership. Her marketing talents have of course been recognised and her abilities as a senior leader are exceptional.

What is on your mind the most right now as a marketing leader?

The past few years have been tough for senior marketing leaders, so I’m delighted to see a strong pipeline of new roles coming through. My focus is on finding perfect-fit roles for our candidates and putting together strong shortlists for our clients.

Why is being part of The Marketing Society important for your career?

The Marketing Society has such a vibrant and supportive community. As a keen networker, I enjoy meeting friends (old and new) at your brilliant events.

Why does marketing matter to you?

I keep hearing the phrase 'engine for growth' in relation to the marketing function and I couldn’t agree more. Marketers have the ability to drive positive change within organisations and I think that’s incredibly exciting.

Tell us something that’s not on your CV

My dogs, Toffee and Max, are very much part of my working life – some of my best ideas happen on our morning walks.
