All we want for Christmas is your marketing talent

Christmas and your talent

Noise Solution has been good all year. They have supported people who due to mental health issues, offending, drug use and antisocial behaviour are not reaching their potential and through music mentoring, the team has helped them create their own music to gain confidence and reintegrate with society. And all Noise Solution wants for Christmas is to gain support with developing their marketing strategy so that in 2015 they can expand their impacts.

Simon Glenister founded Noise Solution in 2009 to use music technology to create social impact. The concept fuses Simon's own experiences working as a professional musician in the internationally critically acclaimed band, Tunng and working with excluded young people in his previous roles with Youth offending and Connexions.

Simon explained, “I created the organisation because I saw a need for high quality arts provision that could have dramatic impacts on individuals and great outcomes for society as a whole.”

Simon identified that for the young people with whom he was working, music could be used, particularly music technology, to very rapidly create an artistic output that is tangible, positive and credible. And that this experience helps to build self-confidence - the fundamental building block for improving lives.

Noise Solution’s one-to-one tutoring takes people who have not had a successful experience of education and gives them a bite-sized positive experience of education that can help them turn a corner. Simon said, “We make them good at something quickly, whether that’s making Trance or Dubstep or playing the piano or drums, and we share that success with the people important to them using social media and blogging. We have found that this fairly simple experience of success combined with recognition goes a long way to building peoples’ self-confidence, which was often the thing that was holding them back.”

After a young person has completed the Noise Solution programme the team endeavours to find progression routes for them, by helping them connect with other arts organisations or places they can make use of the skills they have learnt. Some participants gain voluntary placements and some go to college. And they all come away with the skills to carry on making their own music.

Noise Solution was recently accepted on to the prestigious Lloyds Bank School for Social Entrepreneurs scale up programme - receiving one of 20 places that saw many of the country’s leading social enterprises apply.

Marketing support needed
As a social enterprise that prides itself on not being dependent on grant funding Noise Solution knows it needs to keep growing and developing its business strategy. They have three areas in which they would like to gain your marketing support to help them achieve their goals for expansion in 2015.

Firstly Noise Solution needs help with developing its overall marketing strategy and secondly support with creating a plan for marketing its new programme for schools that will be open to groups of students facing educational challenges.

And thirdly they would greatly appreciate an expert review of their website to help them overhaul their web presence to reflect their latest offerings and approaches.
