Interview with Josh Littlejohn

Josh Littlejohn, co-founder of Social Bite, joins us for our final Albion Dinner of 2016 on October 25.  We caught up with Josh ahead of the dinner:

What does a bold marketing leader look like?
If you mean aesthetically, probably has a beard and big specs. But generally I think a bold marketing leader is someone who’s willing to embrace the new school while also harnessing the less cool old fashioned techniques of marketing. Sometimes these days it’s bold just to be honest.

Describe your job in 10 words or less.
Creating businesses which help some of society's most marginalised people.

What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Sleep more, read more, drink more water.

What’s the biggest mistake you’ve ever made and what did you learn from it?
Mistakes are good, small and often preferably though, rather than major. I’m learning all the time, I do things differently from the guy who started out, each venture we start up, each contract we win benefits from the learnings from the last one, good and bad.

Which book has proved invaluable for business?
Muhammad Yunus - Social Business and the Future of Capitalism.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
I love watching the UFC and also do a bit of MMA training myself.

Tell us a secret.
I know where Leonardo DiCaprio will be having lunch on 17 November.

Tickets are still available for the Albion Dinner are available on October 25 at the Blythswood Square Hotel.
