Interview with Julie Roberts

Interview with Julie Roberts

Describe your job in 10 words

Partnering with clients, collaborating with creatives, delivering integrated marketing solutions.

What do you wish you'd known at the beginning of your marketing career?

Creativity is not just a talent, it’s a way of operating.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

You have two ears and one mouth. Use them in that proportion.

What’s the worst advice you’ve ever been given?

Advice is that – advice. You can take it or leave it. I don’t think that there is such a thing as bad or worst advice; just lessons to learn and grow from.

Don't underestimate…

Climate change. Every brand has a role to play in helping educate consumers to be responsible citizens and we should all be pulling together to solve what is essentially a man made problem.

Where do you look for inspiration?

My team – they are a highly switched on, informed and creative bunch. They inspire me daily.

My biggest influence...

Without doubt, my mum.

The leader I most admire and why?

I have a few depending on causes/industry. At the moment I’d say Keith Weed – Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Unilever. He is leading Unilever’s vision to make sustainable living commonplace. Their Foundry Idea Project is a crowd sourcing project designed to solve sustainability issues. It will be interesting to see what it delivers!

What I am reading and book(s) I would highly recommend
