Act for Change is a charity that provides young people that have been through traumatic experiences with the targeted support they need to succeed in life. They are on the lookout for marketers who would like to contribute their talent to a good cause that helps young people to reach their full potential.

By gaining your support in the development of their marketing and communications strategy Act for Change will be able to help more young people to get out of the social services system, stop offending and make the most of their education.

Ideally families provide the love and security that their children need to flourish. But unfortunately many children grow up in families where dysfunction, trauma and abuse are part of their daily lives. When the family environment is not working a child can struggle to develop a positive direction in life.

For the last ten years Act for Change has provided a unique recovery programme, offering expert psychological support to help children and teenagers and their families rebuild their damaged relationships. Children deserve the opportunity to grow and fulfil their potential and the team at Act for Change works hard to ensure that many more children are able to do so.

Act for Change is often brought in to help relieve situations in which a teenager affected by family trauma is now getting into trouble with the law. They’ve built up a strong track record of helping young people faced with these kinds of difficulties to recover and go on to lead productive lives. They are now offering training to social workers and youth workers to help them develop similar capabilities.

Act for Change’s newest project is to work to build sustainable communities in at-risk areas to take a prevention oriented approach to avoid these types of situations arising in the first place.


How you can support their work
Act for Change would love to gain your support with the development of their marketing and communications strategy to involve more supporters to their work. They would like to connect with volunteers that can support their programmes and specific research projects, with donors to help fund their work and with a wider network of supporters willing to help promote their activities.

A major obstacle they find when communicating their message is that it is hard to share their case studies due to the sensitivity of their work. They must not infringe the privacy of the young people they support and therefore struggle to share their success stories. They would greatly appreciate marketing and communications advice on how to overcome this challenge.
