Joint Head of Brand Scotland Marketing, The Scottish Government

Karin Finlay has worked in international communications for more than 25 years and currently heads up Brand Scotland Marketing alongside Kim Wallace.
Karin’s passion for Scotland began when she left Northern Ireland to study at the University of Stirling and has shaped her career path ever since. Before the Scottish Government, Karin headed up consumer PR for VisitScotland, creating global PR campaigns and collaborations to profile Scotland as a place to visit.
In Brand Scotland Karin leads activity programmes showcasing Scotland as a place to live, work, visit, study and do business for a wide range of major international events and has delivered projects across Australasia, America and Europe as well as those on home turf including COP26 and the UCI Cycling World Championships.
Naturally creative and curious, she is never happier than when she’s making new connections and collaborations, discovering Scotland’s new stories and storytellers and crafting impactful ways to share them with the world.
