Dinner on the moon with Omega

Dinner on the moon with Omega
In the very apt location of Houston, Omega hosted an immersive space-themed party to commemorate 45 years since the Apollo 13 mission, when the astronauts relied on their Speedmaster watch to successfully return home. Indeed, the Omega watch was the first to be worn on the moon.

Three hundred guests – mostly astronauts - assembled for the event, and on entrance they were greeted by models clad in otherworldly attire. The guests were then ushered into a tunnel surrounded by special light and sound effects. Through the tunnel they emerged into the cocktail area, where both vintage and modern Omega Speedmaster timepieces, as well as videos and murals were displayed.  Pre-recorded flight calls served as white background noise rather than music.

Smoke, sound, and light effects resembling a take-off simulation heralded the journey from earth to the moon (or from cocktails to dinner). Once ‘take-off’ was complete, a full-scale 'landing on the moon' scene was unveiled much to the delight of guests. Using five truckloads of gravel, the brand had constructed a replica of the moon - or the so-called Omega Lunar Base - in the 20,000 square foot space.  No stone was left unturned with this theme; from the plates to the levitating centrepieces to the globes peppered throughout.

As guests parted, one final transition took place. Topping off the event, thousands of LED lights that had been placed on the exterior of the venue and the grounds—mimicking twinkling stars in the night sky—suddenly became visible.

Now that is what we at BEcause like to call a magical and memorable brand experience.
