Changemakers: Ambition
This year’s conference theme is Changemakers: Ambition – a rallying cry for marketers to reclaim their rightful place at the heart of business growth, leadership and societal progress.
This is not ambition in its outdated, aggressive form. This is ambition rooted in purpose, culture and collective progress. It is about leaders who drive growth while shaping organisations, brands and societies for the better.
Ambition is what moves marketing from possibility to progress. It is the optimism to see what could be and the drive to make it happen. For marketers, ambition means setting bold objectives, creating meaningful change for businesses and society, and turning imagination into action. It is personal and collective, fuelled by energy, intention and the courage to pursue growth – even when the path is not certain.
Why Ambition, Why Now
Marketing sits at the heart of business growth, leadership and societal progress, yet too often underplays its own impact. At a time when businesses are navigating uncertainty, transformation and pressure, ambition becomes the force that reconnects confidence with responsibility.
For marketers and business leaders, ambition is about aiming higher, for businesses, careers, industries and communities and believing that better outcomes are possible. It is about restoring pride in what marketing can achieve, telling those stories more boldly, and giving people permission to be confident about their role in shaping the future.
Incremental thinking is rife across business. But that does not drive the step changes we need to see. We need to think bigger: on innovation, on collaboration, on decision-making, on business process, and on where we look for inspiration and commercial value.
Ambition for our careers. Ambition for our brands and businesses. Ambition for the future of work and growth. For Marketers Who Mean Business.

The Agenda So Far...
The Ambition to Lead with Peace
Speaker: Darryl David, Member of Parliament in Singapore
Moderator: Sophie Devonshire, CEO, The Marketing Society
Format: Keynote followed by a Fireside conversation
Synopsis:
What does it mean to lead with ambition when success isn't just about what we achieve, but the difference we make?
Drawing on his journey across leadership, public service and community, Darryl David will share his perspective on leading with purpose, building trust and the responsibility that comes with influencing others.
Inspired by his book ‘Leading with Peace’, this session will explore the decisions that shape us as leaders, the importance of bringing people with us and how ambition can be a force for positive change.
Bringing a distinctly Singaporean perspective to our theme of Ambition, Darryl will challenge us to think beyond personal and professional success and consider what it really means to lead with purpose and leave a lasting legacy.
The Decisions That Define Us
Speaker: Hari V Krishnan, Co-founder & CEO, Genie Health
Moderator: Sophie Devonshire, CEO, The Marketing Society
Format: Fireside conversation
Synopsis:
How far are you prepared to go for your ambitions, and what happens when those ambitions are tested?
Hari V Krishnan has spent his career building and scaling businesses across Asia, from pioneering LinkedIn's growth in the region to leading PropertyGuru through significant expansion and its eventual US listing.
But some of his most defining leadership moments weren't simply about commercial success. During COVID, Hari made the bold decision to protect jobs at PropertyGuru while radically changing business spending, demonstrating what happens when leadership values are truly put to the test.
Now, as Co-Founder and CEO of Genie, he's applying his entrepreneurial and technology experience to health innovation, building an AI-enabled platform that helps individuals make more informed health decisions and supports healthcare providers with better insights and patient engagement.
In conversation with Sophie Devonshire, Hari will explore what drives his entrepreneurial ambition, the courage to challenge conventional thinking, and what keeps him motivated to build businesses that make a difference.
