This week we meet Sep, Regional Marketing Manager at GSK Consumer Healthcare for Respiratory & Skin Health (South East Asia & Taiwan)
What’s your golden rule?
“Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars and change the world.”
Who has been your biggest influence?
My parents are my greatest role models. They have been a great example and influence of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and most of all, unconditional love. Growing up, they have shaped me in the context of strong human values and principles that guide me wherever I am.
What is your most hated business expression?
“I’m the boss!”
How can marketers be braver?
Don’t be afraid to test and learn, to try something new, something crazy, something uncomfortable. Growth never comes if we are in our comfort zone, it comes with the courage to stand up and do different impactul things that makes us and our brands stand out.
What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career?
It would have to be when I resigned from my previous company, L’Oreal, where I had a long 5-year tenure and experience across the top big categories and roles there, and moved to unfamiliar territory with my new company, GSK. So far, no regrets, just gratitude.
Which leader do you admire most and why?
It would have to be Martin Luther King Jr. (below). He became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968. He was a very inspiring, charismatic leader driven by a strong purpose to drive racial inequality. His story is inspiring to me, as his values of embracing diversity, universal love and brotherhood, and acceptance are core values I myself uphold and promote.
What’s your favourite word?
Passion. Take everything else away from me, but you can never take that passion and grit that burns inside me that motivates me to do magical and inspiring things.
Tell us a secret?
I think I was a former actor-talk show host-singer-dancer-entertainer in my previous life!
